However, tapes that have been stored in sheds, shipping containers, or damp environments may come with extra surprises—mould, dust, mud, even insect or gecko remnants. These tapes require significant cleaning and can take much longer to prepare before the footage is safely transferred.
We occasionally receive tapes with live or dead ants, gecko eggs, spider webs, or severe mould. These not only risk damaging the tape itself, but also the specialist equipment we use for transfers. In some cases, the footage can be rescued. In others, parts of the tape may be too far gone to retrieve.

If a tape has broken, warped, or tangled, it will need repairs before digitisation can begin. We take great care to restore tapes where possible, but this also adds to the time and handling involved.

5. How You’d Like Your Files Returned
Digitised footage can be delivered on a USB or external hard drive. We’ll help select the best option depending on how much data you’re converting.
6. Postage & Handling
Based in Mackay, we service Australia Wide. If you’re not local to Mackay, we offer a secure postal option with careful tracking and handling procedures in place. Alternatively, you can drop your tapes off in person in Andergrove or use one of our pop-up drop-off points (like the one currently in Emerald, QLD).
